When I first heard about the fad of the ketogenic diet, I will admit I was a bit of a skeptic because there are so many different types of diets out there and this one was very similar to another one which I felt failed miserably. I then sought out the help of a cardiologist to find out if this was the real deal or was it just another scam. After months of research and asking of questions, I made my choice and discovered four reasons why this diet makes sense and why it is so popular. 1- It aids in reducing insulin within the bloodstream which is essential in promoting good health and weight loss. 2- Eating a large amount of good fat is not only good for my cholesterol it does not make me feel bad that something so really fatty like a nice ribeye steak. 3- With the large fat amount ingested we are also lowering our LDL which is the bad form of cholesterol and raising HDL which is essential in lowering the risk of heart disease. 4- Being on a keto diet as assisted me in fasting on a regular basis.
